Welcome back to I Am Serene L :)!!! Today is another special one, and will be a continuation of my Cover FX Series. In case you’ve missed it you can check out my views on the Cover FX – Blurring Primer here!!!
Today I will be reviewing the Cover FX – Power Play Foundation in the shade P20. The Cover FX – Power Play Foundation range comes in 40 shades, with shades that are suited for skin tones with different undertones. The P shades are suited for those that have Pink Undertones, the N shades are those with Neutral Undertones and lastly the G shades are the ones more suited for skin tones with Golden Undertones!!!
After swatching the different P & N tones in person, and trialling out a couple of shades, I saw that P20 was the shade best matched for my skin tone, and the shade chart that Cover FX has also shows you the type of shade that would be best suited for your skin tone.
|| Undertones ||
1) Pink undertones – a rosy cool tone
2) Neutral – contains a balance of both Golden and pink tones (Cool & Warm)
3) Golden – a yellow warm tone
The Cover FX – Power Play Foundation is one of the pricer foundations out there, amongst the ones I’ve tried and loved, however this one is by far the best one I’ve also tried & amazing value for the £38.00 price tag you’ll pay for it!!! … let me tell you this, the foundation is absolutely amazing and easily blends into the skin to perfection!!!
I love the formula, it is a buildable coverage foundation that can be layered to suit your foundation needs from medium coverage to high coverage. I absolutely love the foundation formula as it feels like a creamy high performance formula that is water resistant to help fight against oil & sweat!!! Hooray!!! and it doesn’t dry on the skin so quickly, so you’ll be able to blend it smoothly into the skin. I would say this foundation is aimed for Oily / combination skin types as it controls oil, however during the summer it could also work for normal / dry skin tones as it will help to reduce the appearance of sweat!!!
Once it’s set, it will dry softly, leaving you with a smooth, shine free and matte face (AND I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT). It’s non drying at all, and feels like your skin is still breathing!!! On my skin it can last up to 16 Hours without budging & I absolutely love this foundation, I’ve also noticed a difference in my skin appearance. It really does give a flawless and smooth finish, and It has definitely evened out the redness in my natural skin and improved the texture!!! I absolutely love this Cover FX – Power Play Foundation and recommend even swatching it to see what the whole fuss is about, as it’s changed my views on Foundations aimed for oily skin types.
What’s also amazing about the Cover FX – Power Play Foundation shades, is that they don’t oxidise and will remain the true colour you’ve applied throughout the day, unlike some other foundations I’ve tried including the Clinique – Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer.
Heres me wearing my Cover FX – Power Play Foundation in P20!!!
